Jeunesse sans Dieu plot

1938, a village in the Ruhr area. The liberal-minded Pabst (Marc Barbé) is a young, idealistic teacher at the lyceum, who hopes to convey his thoughts of freedom to the young. During a class discussion about colored people, he notices that the students react very racist. He cannot achieve anything with fine words because his entire environment is already under the spell of National Socialism. Pabst becomes estranged from the students. A trip to a holiday camp cannot relax the moods.
