"She's so swelegant... They phffft over her!"

Jimmy Barnes (Francis Lederer) arrives from Europe to be trained by his uncle, the multimillionaire Edward J. Barnes (JC Nugent). Within five years, the extravagant excesses of Jimmy, now a lawyer, are the talk of the town. Linda Gray (Madeleine Carroll), the timid secretary of old Barnes, falls in love with Jimmy, but he prefers the fashionable actress Constance Marlowe (Grace Bradley). When old Barnes dies, he leaves everything to Linda, but in the process instructs partner Alexander Duncan (Charles Waldron) to make sure Linda and Jimmy get married.
