Ignazio (Hugh Griffith) and Allegra (Catherine Spaak) make a beautiful couple. Although Ignazio is much older, they are happy together. So when young Leonardo (Hywel Bennett) courts Allegra, she resists the temptation, because at least she wants to wait for Ignazio to die. But it all takes Leonardo too long and he therefore decides to lend fate a hand.
