Anneliese (Sonja Ziemann) goes through life inconspicuously, until the well-known stage actor Claudio (Dieter Borsche) secures her a position in a clothing company and sends her to a beauty salon. She changes from a wallflower to an enchanting beauty. She is discovered by the noble banker's son Thomas (Karlheinz Böhm) who tries to seduce her. Without success, because Anneliese only wants Claudio. When Anneliese calls his name over and over in anesthesia after appendectomy, Claudio suddenly realizes that he loves her too.
