I Mariti plot
The Duchess Emma, in love with Count Riverbella, is forced by her parents to marry the lawyer Regoli, an honest and kind man. Despite his jealousy of Riverbella, he defends him against a legal charge and - for the good of his wife's sister - tries to save her from the temptations of a materialistic playboy. Regoli's kind-hearted nature and selflessness slowly change Emma's feelings for him. She begins to love her imposed husband more and more.
