Hungry Ghost Diner plot
The film is set within the Chinese community in Malaysia, in the weeks before the Ghost Festival. When Bonnie's lost uncle unexpectedly shows up at her food truck in Kuala Lumpur, she drives to her father, from whom she has become somewhat estranged, in a village in the north. A sudden Covid lockdown forces her to spend the night in the family cafe, where she encounters the spirits of the dearly departed as they gather for a feast.
