House of Errors plot
The newspaper deliverers Bert and Alf have been fired by their employer. They decide to become independent reporters and they plan to write a story about Hiram Randall, inventor of a new machine gun. But Hiram hates journalists, so Bert and Alf pretend to be valets and butlers. They are hired by the Randall family. Then Jerry Fitzgerald, a reporter from their former employer, shows up. Jerry gets permission for an interview by claiming to represent a US military newspaper, while a family friend and a so-called arms manufacturer who plans to steal Hiram's invention also appear.
