Holiday Heritage plot
Ella returns home for Christmas to find her mother and grandmother in a strained relationship as they work together at the family bakery. They both grieve in different ways after the passing of Ella's beloved grandfather who united the family through Kwanzaa traditions and principles. Ella's former boyfriend Griffin is now the town's mayor and has carried on many of Grandpa Riley's traditions. By making Kwanzaa cookies and celebrating both Christmas and Kwanzaa, all three generations of women blossom to find each other and themselves.
