After breaking up with her manipulative boyfriend, Emily returns home for the holidays. When she arrives at her childhood home, she discovers that her parents are about to go house hunting in Florida. To make matters worse, the overzealous homeowners association president tries to persuade her to decorate the house for the holidays.

I love watching corny Christmas movies in December. Even the real Hallmark ones. But this is honestly one of the worst I've ever seen. I found the overacting so over the top that it became forced and nerve-racking. It made me feel annoyed, and it ruined the Christmas spirit. All attempts at humor fell flat, and by the end, I was practically squinting. I watched it anyway, but it was a real drag. I just think the main characters are terrible and annoying. Wes Brown, in particular, came across as a difficult guy. All the neighbors in the neighborhood are so eager to celebrate Christmas that it's simply not fun anymore.
I have to say I can take a punch when it comes to this genre, but this is really over the top.
0.5*, because I can't get any lower...
I wonder if the second movie is also that bad.
