"This is Eli Pettifog. He's got a score to settle, and it's going to get hairy."
Smart 14-year-old Eli Pettifog (Alex Wolff) was raised by his single alcoholic mother. When his ambition to attend Harvard is thwarted, he has to settle for Whitman College, the 36th best college in America. He decides to take revenge for his rejection by taking the Whitman College bowling team under his wing and taking them to the finals against the inevitable superpower Harvard. Eli's roommate is 38-year-old freshman Leo Searly (Brendan Fraser). After gambling his fortune, Leo decides to live out a lifelong dream: to get an education. Their friendship develops into an unorthodox but endearing father-son relationship.
