Harry, Bernard and Alfie are three amateur gangsters. After a battle, the clumsy trio comes up with the idea of using a fire engine as a getaway vehicle. But they are always mistaken for real firefighters. The crooks begin to learn the craft of firefighting so that they can reasonably continue, and in case they get caught up again in a real emergency.
