Excess Will Save Us plot

"What happens in the family stays in the family."

A young filmmaker returns to her home village, a hamlet in northern France, to investigate a strange story about a terrorist threat. She starts with her own relatives, and doesn't really need to look much further. The misunderstanding – because that's what it was – mainly shows how alarmist newsreel images and metropolitan political scheming in the distant hinterland take on a life of their own.
