Engel im Abendkleid plot

After years in America, Peter Harden returns to Germany to take over his uncle's inheritance. But the joy is short-lived when it turns out that the inheritance consists of a dilapidated villa and many debts. Debts that the attractive bailiff Ingrid Engel would like to collect. However, due to a misunderstanding in a newspaper, she herself is mistaken as the heir to a million-dollar inheritance and is suddenly the target of all kinds of people who want something from her.
