Edmund Gilbert and his daughter Lilian have been warmed up by his wild investment plans. Now they are up to their ears in debt. They hope to swindle a large, greedy financier in a last-ditch effort to raise money. Their plan seems doomed to failure when the electric company shows up to turn off their lights. But there is a glimmer of hope when the boss of the company leaves an intern to do the job.
