Wandering cowboys Pidge Crosby and Jimmy take work taming horses for Tom Pendergrast. Pidge is impressed by Doris Lane and has himself thrown in jail when he learns that she shows her kind heart by tending to Sheriff George Lane's inmates. That plan works fine, until the great mobster Sluggsy Baker is jailed. He lets himself be freed by his henchmen and they take Pidge with them.
