Oddmund Lindeflaten, a 26-year-old Norwegian football player, arrives in Lindsborg, Kansas to work as an au pair for widow Helen Hazelton. Helen has two bored sons, 15-year-old Atticus and 9-year-old Beau, and lives on a farm where they raise bison. It quickly becomes apparent that Helen and Oddmund have enormous attraction for each other.
