Antoine is a waiter in a Parisian restaurant. One night, he can stop a man, Louis, from killing himself. To get him back on track, he looks for work for him, and they slowly become friends. Despite Antoine's best efforts, Louis continues to think of Blanche, his love who was responsible for his deep depression. Antoine goes looking for her without saying anything to Louis. However, she is not single, but problems arise if she nevertheless feels something for Antoine.
