The widow Charlotte Lord has now passed forty. She owns the most fashionable clothing store in Manhattan and is about to marry wealthy businessman Guy Barton. This marriage has the full approval of Charlotte's three daughters, Jane, Marilyn and Leni, and their two girlfriends, Lois and Mary Wilson. But quick divorces in Mexico have been declared illegal in the US, showing Guy is still married to Sybil Barton. The unscrupulous Sybil, who likes rich men, left him 12 years ago. She demands that Guy give her $250,000 for his freedom.
