Altes Herz Wird Wieder Jung plot
The director of a chocolate factory, Hoffmann (Emil Jannings), accidentally meets his granddaughter Brigitte (Maria Landrock), while he was unaware of her existence. She is the daughter of his now deceased illegitimate son, whom he had never acknowledged. Although there is initially a distance between grandfather and granddaughter, young Brigitte comes to love her grandfather and the old gentleman flourishes. The family thinks otherwise: old Hoffmann is an old billy goat who still likes a green leaf and has bought himself a young girl. Though the money belongs to Hoffmann, they fear the worst for their inheritance. Cousin Paul (Viktor de Kowa) works at his uncle's factory and hires Brigitte as his secretary. He falls in love with her and even becomes jealous of his uncle.
