A Successful Calamity plot
Henry Wilton is an elderly millionaire saddled with his selfish young second wife Emmy "Sweetie" Wilton and a pair of spoiled grown children, Peggy and Eddie. To test his family's loyalty, Henry pretends to have gone bankrupt. As Henry suspected, his children side with their father and change their lives. Peggy leaves the fortune hunter George Struthers and chooses the beautiful young man she is truly in love with: the polo coach Larry Rivers. Eddie goes for a demanding job and fulfills that job very well. Only Sweetie seems to want a divorce from Henry.
