A Corner in Colleens plot

The riots in Dublin leave four orphaned sisters living just outside the city. Their land is bequeathed to a young American, Richard Taylor, who arrives in Ireland to inspect the estate. The sisters fear that he plans to throw them off the land, so they initially treat him coldly. Then Richard rescues one of the sisters, Shamrock, from British authorities who want to arrest her for participating in a patriot rally.
