1999 Madeleine plot
Madeleine is a seamstress in a slowly failing tailor shop. She is new in town, she has no friends, and much of her time is wasted caring for her sick mother and reading astrology and fairy tales. When men come into her life, she always seems to be the one who gets the short straw. Thomas wants to have children, she cannot. The fun travel agent she makes an appointment with ends up with her going to his house for dinner with his wife and children. Her horoscope tells her that she will find true love, and with this in mind she keeps going...
