Commissioner 00 Schneider is getting older, and it shows. Still, he doesn't want to feel worn out just yet, because crime never sleeps. Three crimes that seem to be related are suddenly committed within his jurisdiction. The commissioner investigates the robbery of a tobacconist, a cigarette theft from pensioners and the sudden disappearance of an innocent chicken. 00 Schneider suspects the chain smoker Jean-Claude Pillemann, who is called 'the lizard' because of his smooth movements.
