Scoop plot

"One interview can change everything."

In 2014, British Prince Andrew was accused of rape by Virginia Giuffre. To prove his innocence, the prince voluntarily took a seat in front of the cameras of BBC's 'Newsnight' five years later. Journalist Emily Maitlis then talks to him about his friendship with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Instead of clearing his name, the prince only gets himself deeper into trouble.

Good film about the TV interview with Prince Andrew about his friendship with a convicted pedophile. The reason, the preparation and of course the interview itself are clearly presented. The characters themselves less so (despite excellent casting). The film does manage to maintain the tension well. Easily 3.5 stars.

Is that all? A cautious (and long-winded) film about a famous, but extremely cautious interview by the BBC with a royalty who was not only friends with a wealthy pedophile, but also had sex with minors himself. Then for once you might as well read the tabloids.

Meticulous reconstruction of the preparation for one of the most legendary television moments of the century: BBC Newsnight's interview with Prince Andrew about his friendship with convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein and the accusation of sexual abuse of the then minor Virginia Giuffre. Sam McAlister [Billie Piper] is the producer who, through Prince Andrew's private secretary Amanda Thirsk [Keeley Hawes], opens the door wide open for an interview with Emily Maitliss [Gillian Anderson], who cemented her reputation as one of the best interviewers in the world during the intake. Esme Wren [Romola Garai] is the editor-in-chief who doesn't want to leave anything to chance. Anderson and Sewell are the spitting images of Emily Maitliss and Prince Andrew, but what's the point of reenacting [url=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QtBS8COhhhM]an interview that anyone can see on the Internet[/ url]? Better watch the documentary Secrets Of Prince Andrew.
