Every occupied country will have had its resistance heroes during the Nazi occupation, and that was no different in Norway. Quite a gripping and powerful film about a young man who took the lead and did not shy away from taking risks in a very reasoned manner. It is also remarkable that the film focuses on the fact that there is indeed no black and white during the war. The school lecture that Sonsteby gave to a number of contemporary youngsters was also confronting. It was a bitter moment, although Andersen made sure to keep the focus on the heroic deeds in the past.

Beautifully filmed and the acting was also of a good standard. The full attention went to the resistance itself and less to the Nazis or collaborators. The pace was good and sufficiently high.

A war film about the Norwegian resistance with Gunnar Sønsteby in particular. Rightly so that such a hero gets attention. Even though there were many heroes who resisted the German occupiers. But I wonder what use all that resistance had. Liquidating Nazi sympathizers only resulted in revenge from the Germans. Was the war less intense and shorter because of that? Of course, gathering information for the Allies did yield something.

Gunnar tells his story to students in a kind of factory. Some students ask him questions and one in particular. Eventually leads to a confrontation and touching scene.

The film has a nice pace. Of course the story is somewhat colored by the fact that it is told from Gunnar's perspective. But then there are also some loose ends.

Furthermore, I thought it was a shame that the Germans were again dressed in very neat clothes with undamaged helmets.

The positive thing is that the Germans spoke German.

Overall, I thought it was a good movie.

5 stars for a great movie.

Very good acting.

Only Radiohead's music is a bit strange.
