Machuca plot
"Two boys observe a political coup in their native Chile."
Father McEnroe heads an elite school in Santiago de Chile. Because he believes in a democratic and classless society, some children from the slums are also allowed in the classroom. This is how Gonzalo Infante and Pedro Machuca meet. Despite their rich and poor backgrounds respectively, they become friends. Their life story is set against the background of the Allende government and the subsequent seizure of power by the military. The latter in particular has a profound influence on the lives of the two young teenagers.
