Junk World plot

The story takes place in the distant future. A team of humans, clones, and cyborgs explores an underground robot empire. However, they are ambushed by rebellious cyborgs. A journey through time and dimensions, more than a thousand years before Junk Head.

A worthy prequel.

The extra budget has made Hori more ambitious. That is positive in itself, because it ensures it is certainly not a repetition of previous work. However, Hori occasionally bites off more than he can chew with a number of things, which is why I ultimately consider Junk Head to be the better film.

The voice acting, in particular, allows the narrative to be a bit more complex, but the dubbing isn't great and occasionally a bit too much information is provided. The story itself is also quite complex, whereas the first film was primarily a journey of discovery through a wacky world. But that is mainly the comparison between the two films. This remains great, and the extra budget also ensures that it stands a notch higher visually.
