Great Expectations plot
"A humble orphan suddenly becomes a gentleman with the help of an unknown benefactor."
Pip is a young orphan doomed to live a life of poverty and little prospect of a better life until he meets an escaped convict and an eccentric old woman named Mrs. Havisham. An unnamed donor leaves a fortune to Pip that gives him the opportunity to go to school and live like a gentleman. He soon finds out that his new lifestyle also brings problems.
