Sixteen-year-old Billy 5000 has dropped out of school and is trying to earn money by delivering food. He wants to earn $5,000 to buy his own house and pay back Gail, who lets him stay with her. Billy 5000's friends are more interested in mischief and scamming adults for beer. While the high school dropout is at work, he befriends Donut, a blue, donut-shaped alien. Billy 5000 must rescue him from Dr. Dolphin, a juice magnate who is hunting Donut.
