Arco plot
"What if rainbows were people from the future traveling in time?"
In the distant future, twelve-year-old Arco moves around using a rainbow suit. However, one day he loses control, causing him to end up in the past. His peer Iris, from the year 2075, manages to save him and tries to bring him back to his era.

In the distant future, Arco [Oscar Tresanini] is far too young to travel through time, but he can't contain his curiosity. He travels back to 2075, meets his peer Iris [Margot Ringard Oldra], and discovers a world unknown to him, from which he has no idea how to return to his family. This imaginative, beautifully designed animated film amusingly plays with the idea that our future is a distant past for the protagonist. Charming, with a moving ending.

It's especially cool that the story takes place in the future for us, but that they get a visit from an even more distant future. That adds a nice dimension. Visually, it's really cool with that design, both in the distant future and in 2075, and especially how in the more distant future, people are closer to nature and work less with robots.
That doesn't change the fact that I was very disappointed with the film's narrative. The characters never really came to life and remained incredibly flat, the trio of black people was a bit too childish, and the film often simply dragged on too much. All in all, a beautiful experience, but also a dull one. Only in the last five minutes did any real emotion emerge, but by then it was too late. 2.5 stars.
