Sequoia plot

"MOUNTAIN LION Becomes A Forest Hero! DEER Becomes an AVENGING KILLER!"

Toni lives with her father, writer Matthew Martin, in the Sequoia forests of California. While out for a walk, she finds a cougar named Gato, and a deer named Malibu, both young. She takes the two home. The three become friends, which upsets the balance of the laws of nature. After a few years, Toni and Matthew leave the forest and Gato and Malibu return to the wilderness. They do what cougars and deer have to do, but they are still friendly to each other. When Toni and Matthew return, they learn that the animals in the area are becoming extinct due to hunting and tree felling.
