Lejos de los Árboles plot

Adela, a Mexican sound artist, travels with Lucho, a guide and translator, from the jungle to the Peruvian Andes. Following in the footsteps of her grandfather, a Republican exiled in Mexico, she compiles a sound map of endangered languages. When the fear of death takes over, reality falls apart. The journey transforms into an intimate trip that confronts her with memories, grief, displacement, and identity.
