Half a Sinner plot
Despite being young and pretty, teacher Anne Gladden fears she will face a dull future. In the end she decides to go out and buy fashionable clothes, among other things. Her new fiancé suggests that she hook up with strangers. When she unwittingly attracts the attention of a mobster, she avoids him by fleeing in his car, unaware that there is a corpse in the back seat. Determined to find his stolen car, the mobster begins a desperate search.
