Davy Crandall is a bumbling shop assistant who wants to marry Lady Sylvia. His boss teams up with a corrupt governor, who in turn teams up with the pirates. One day, when all the store staff are arrested for collaborating with the pirates and the noose is hanging over his head, he decides to escape and join a pirate ship that happens to be passing by.
