"High Speed Thrills and Reckless Romance"

Joan Randall leads a group of Confederate supporters. Their goal is to repossess tracts of land they know were wrongfully seized at the end of the Civil War. The government issues an arrest on Joan for treason, murder and arson. Scout Jeff Connors is sent to arrest her. Connors learns that the bandit Chet Dawson plans to help Joan Randall without Joan knowing. Connors arrests Dawson and decides to pose as Dawson to Joan. Joan unsuspectingly accepts his help, but her second, Colonel Jedcott, doesn't trust Connors. Meanwhile, Dawson manages to escape and sets off to warn Joan. Dawson and Connors fight it out and in that battle Dawson is killed. Connors, who has since fallen in love with Joan, is forced to arrest Joan, but already knows that Jedcott and O'Leary are the real culprits. Joan is sentenced to death and Connors tries to get her pardon from the governor.
