The System plot
"Behind bars there is no mercy."
Terry Savage, a young soldier just back from the war zone, becomes involved in a drug bust. The authorities subsequently recruit him to infiltrate a notoriously dangerous prison. There, Terry must investigate what really goes on behind the scenes. When he discovers an underground ring for prisoner fighting, prison warden Lucas forces him to join. To win his freedom, Terry must fight to stay alive and bring down the director's corrupt system.

Terry Savage [Tyrese Gibson] is a war veteran who uses his skills to commit violent robberies. His military background, financial problems and a super cute but seriously ill daughter should be enough to keep our sympathy. When Terry is caught, the police commissioner [Ric Reitz] offers him a deal: he can get out without a criminal record if he agrees to cooperate with an investigation into 'the system' of corruption in a prison run by Warden Lucas [Jeremy Piven] and where regulated brawls are used to establish the balance of power and entertain the prisoners. A few nice fights live up an extra half star, otherwise this is stupid pulp.
