The Square Jungle plot
Eddie Quaid is a shop assistant with few career prospects and an alcoholic father. He decides to become a professional boxer after his girlfriend Julie leaves him. His trainer is ex-convict Bernie Brown. After three years he is ready for the championship and Julie comes back into his life. Can she win Eddie over again? Bernie would rather lose the championship game.
