The Magicians plot

Michael (O'Connell) is a talented street performer who earns his living entertaining tourists and cheating at poker games. One day, he is attacked without warning by a renegade police officer. Not an ordinary cop, but a fighter for the forces of evil. Together with master mage Simon (Firth), Michael discovers his own identity: he is the mage, the supreme heir to a thousand-year-old government that must protect its magical powers in order to save the universe. For the magician, the fight to save humanity has begun!
