The Last Drop plot

"What better time for a heist than in the fog of war."

In an ultimate attempt to end World War II before Christmas, the Allies undertake a risky operation that drops them behind enemy German lines in the Netherlands: Operation Market Garden. In the midst of this greatest aerial invasion of all time, there is a small unit called 'Matchbox', with its own secret agenda. A group of seven British soldiers must successfully complete their own mission, outsmarting the Germans and the Americans in the process.

Mediocre war film. Nowhere does it get really exciting and sometimes it seems as if the viewer is being presented with a comedy. The story was very messy and the language choice was also bad. Was it so difficult to hire some German B actors? Now the Germans speak English which seems strange to say the least.

The acting is decent, especially Billy Zane, Karl Roden, Alexander Skarsgärd and Michael Madsen get a pass. Nick Moran also had a nice part. A few fine shooting scenes and some humor make the film still nice to see once.

It really started out as an attractive war film with the gliders flying into the unknown. The landing... But then the confusion between the soldiers begins.

Hopelessly meaningless story that has little to do with war.

First think we got a fragment of the bridge of Arnem. Then some romance on a farm, there at that mill, etc.

There is then some rumbling around the fact that the Germans were after all the works of art.

But the confusion doesn't go anywhere decent.

Just a bad war movie that has nothing to say. Even though there was a lot more to this cigar and drink movie.

2.0 points testify to my good mood.

The action was very B-movie, especially those scenes where they are supposedly shot in the woods. Then you see the allies for not hiding behind trees .
The story is also a bit chaotic. Especially because there is continuous switching between the Allies and those corrupt Germans.
If the story had been better developed, this movie would have been a lot better. Unfortunately, it remains no more than a mediocre B-movie.
