Weak action film, but for a Seagal, not that bad. The story is mediocre and is sloppily developed by Ray. The action scenes are monotonous and simple. The acting is weak, with an irritating role for Amoia. The decor is quite nice, the film looks neat. 1.5/2.0

Oh well, marketing. It doesn't come as a big surprise that Steven Seagal was promoted as the main character by the publisher, while he only has a supporting role. So be it, but otherwise the cast is not particularly strong, with Rob van Dam among others. The story is really wafer-thin and the film contains only a few action scenes, which were actually quite standard. The film is also not exciting at all, which makes the short playing time quite dragging. Perhaps it is not surprising that I eventually needed 3 attempts to finish this film.

“Leave No Man Behind” is jettisoned during the rescue of a US congressman [John Henry Richardson] in unspecified hostile territory. As a result, sniper Jake Chandler [Steven Seagal] must hide with the wounded Rich Connor [Daniel Booko] until the return of sergeant Vic Mosby [Tim Abell] and his men. They have to deal with a determined journalist [Charlene Amoia] who (don’t ask why) eventually takes an active role in the attempt to rescue Jake and Rich and take out a dangerous terrorist [Shary Nassimi]. Seagal is too old and fat for the role, although it helps that he wears a lot of military gear and only has to sit and sneak. Escapes the lowest possible score only because it is slightly less bad than most of Seagal’s films from 2010 onwards.
