Savaged plot
"They took her life. She'll take her revenge."
As Zoe, a beautiful deaf-mute woman, travels across the country, she stumbles upon a horrific crime. A gang of "rednecks" who kill two Native American boys. Zoe's courageous attempt to save one of the boys seals her fate. She is captured, raped and left for dead. When an Indian shaman finds her in a shallow grave, he tries to save her. But then something goes terribly wrong.

Revenge films, I can usually appreciate, I could also have this one up to a certain point, but that supernatural aspect is not at all reflected here and just comes across as very messy and too amateurish. An empty feeling prevails. Then give me 'I Spit On Your Grave'.

Nice.
Nice for once and typical of those films that are a complete surprise. Savaged is a low budget film, but also one that probably had complete freedom over its story. The result is therefore a rather peculiar and idiosyncratic film.
But it is a film that is very well done. This is a very raw and raucous film, much harder than I had anticipated. In addition, they have managed to conceal the budgetary constraints well. This is regularly set up on a grand scale and decorated and furnished quite nicely. That with only a pocket money can be called pretty good.
The acting is solid. I did put doubts on Adrienne who sometimes tries too hard to be scary or menacing, but the bad guys certainly do it properly. Nice and dirty and coarse, that's how I like it. Furthermore, this film is quite vulgar in the dialogues and it also seems to be about it, people who do not like that will not enjoy it much.
The horror is hard and often quite in-your-face. Nice without limits, although nothing is really extraordinarily bizarre or gross. Just a portion of nice hard horror with some action scenes in between. They don't all hit the target, but there are still some pretty cool ideas. The final is especially cool.
In the end it does nothing innovative and the CGI is only mediocre, yet it is the last scene that gives that final push over the finish line. Beautiful and remarkably emotional, even though that friend puts his fiancee out of her misery in a clumsy way. Everything else remains relatively limited, the gore is sometimes transparent and not everything looks nice, but this is quirky enough to at least be distinctive from peers. Nothing wrong with that for once, nice and hard and rough film.

that she takes revenge after her rape... and how!!!
that's why this falls under the category of rape/revenge films
