Moonshine Highway plot
Jed Muldoon (Kyle MacLachlan) smuggles illegally distilled booze, and in exchange for a share of the proceeds, local Sheriff Miller (Randy Quaid) has turned a blind eye. So when the government suddenly takes action against the smugglers, as well as those who have condoned it for years, Miller sees his extra income go up in smoke. Muldoon has since made a lot of money and has become involved in a relationship with Ethel Miller, the wife of the sheriff. Faced with the end of his sideline earnings and green with jealousy towards Muldoon, Miller plots revenge. It becomes an uphill battle between the two to outsmart not only each other, but also the federal police.
