Johnny Tobin is a Vietnam veteran who lost his wife a year ago and is now all alone raising his 12-year-old daughter Stacey. He earns his living as a croupier behind the dice table in Las Vegas and is highly regarded by his colleagues despite the fact that they are aware of his monthly visits to the prostitute Irene. One day, Irene is given the opportunity to escape her pale existence when a customer dies on the spot, leaving behind a $560,000 "legacy."
