Terry works for a bank and interacts with clients all over the world through her computer. One day she receives a strange message from an anonymous sender. The message is encrypted. After deciphering the message, Terry becomes involved in a series of crimes. People are being killed and Terry is being chased.

Revisited not too long ago. In the 1980s, communication via computer was still unexplored territory in many places. Although I certainly don't want to go back to those old monitors and screens with black backgrounds with white or green text, there is something romantic about it. It was a bit of a preview of what was to come and yes, so many years later we are so used to the internet, e-mailing and chatting. About the film itself, yes the story is original, the execution is not very good. It is a crime film with a high comedy content. Whoopi Goldberg steals the show here, if it's not with her actions, it is sometimes with her striking clothing. Really just a great movie.

Wonderful 80s film and youth sentiment.
I used to think it was a very nice movie and now when I rewatch it I still find it very witty. There are some very nice scenes in this comedy-spy movie.
Chatting via the PC was revolutionary then, but now oh so common.

Crime comedy built entirely around Whoopi. Spielberg launched her in The Color Purple as the unforgettable Celie, but she then opted for comedies, unfortunately one worse than the other. This one stuck with me as a reasonable one. Because you have to love her straightforward humor. Yes, chatting on this archaic PC was still a fringe at the time and that makes the idea of this film quite original. The humor is less pleasant and is happily interspersed with some action. That scene with the telephone booth was the most memorable for me. To me, Jumpin Jack Flash is nothing more than a light-hearted snack. I don't have much childhood sentiment.
