In the Line of Duty: A Cop for the Killing plot

"When a cop goes down, his partner gets dangerous."

Ray Wiltern is in charge of the Los Angeles narcotics squad. One day, Officer Tommy Quinn is shot dead by a drug dealer on a routine job, and Wiltern kills an accomplice of the unsub during the chase. Later, however, it appears that the man was unarmed and an investigation is launched into Wiltern's doings; who begins to wonder if he is the right man in the right place.
