Jin Yi Wei plot
Zhao Bufa (Ka-Yan Leung) is a sergeant of the Brocade, an elite group of guards led by his father, Captain Zhao Wuji (Ku Feng). The guard and in fact the whole country is under the control of Eunuch Wang Zhen (Liu Yung) who, through temptation, has the young and naive emperor completely under his control. The Eunuch uses the guard to track down and execute criminals and rebels. Slowly but surely, Zhao Bufa finds out that the thugs are in fact loyal men of the Emperor and that he is being used. When he goes against a direct order from the Eunuch, he puts his father, who is aware of the whole situation, in a difficult position. To save his family, Zhao Wuji is forced to arrest and execute his son.
