Doberuman Deka plot

Joji Kano has been a police officer in Okinawa since the age of 19. He is an excellent marksman and has already taken down a lot of crooks. Despite his peasant accent and demeanor, he is called the Doberman because of his aggressive nature. Kano goes to Tokyo to identify the corpse of a teenager. But nothing is as it seems when he uncovers a scandal involving a rising star and the yakuza.

This Japanese exploitation film reminds me most stylistically of Dirty Harry in a blaxploitation guise. Kano prefers to do things his way, and with his straw hat on. Even the .44 Magnum is brought out for the occasion. I found the story, and especially surrounding the identities of Mayami and Yuni, confusing. It's a story that requires attentiveness. I can't shake the feeling that something isn't quite right here. It's quite hectic at times; normal conversation is almost impossible, but it's certainly quite entertaining with a Chiba in top condition. For the manga aficionados: based on an old manga from the 1970s by author Buronson, best known for Fist of the North Star.
