Vin Diesel has revealed his ideal choice for the villain in the eleventh and final Fast and Furious movie.
The 'Fast' franchise has developed into one of the most popular and profitable franchises of all time and the tenth entry in the series, Fast X, will be released in 2023.
As the franchise has gone on, more and more A-list actors have signed-up for the action, including Kurt Russell, John Cena and Oscar winners Helen Mirren, Charlize Theron and Brie Larson.
Fast 11 will be the final movie in the series, and when asked by Variety who he would like to see come on board, Diesel quickly responded with:
"Robert Downey Jr."
Diesel was probed to provide some info as to what kind of character Downey Jr. might play, and the actor said the role would be the "antithesis" of Dom Toretto.
“Without telling you too much about what happens in the future, there’s a character who is the antithesis of Dom who is promoting AI and driverless cars and a philosophy that with that goes your freedom,” Diesel explained.
“There is somebody that believes that’s the future, and that’s at direct odds with the Toretto mentality.”
Downey Jr. is, of course, no stranger to franchise movies, having starred as Tony Stark / Ironman to massive success over the last 15 years or so for Marvel.
Michelle Rodriguez wants Matt Damon in Fast 11
Diesel was on the red carpet to promote the trailer for Fast X along with his numerous co-stars, including Michelle Rodriguez.
When Rodriguez was asked the same question about who she would like to see join the franchise, she replied:
“Who’s the guy from these amazing Jason Bourne movies? Matt Damon! I fucking want Matt Damon. Matt Damon, would you be in a Fast and Furious movie? C’mon, we got four Oscar winners, man.
"And you’re an Oscar winner!”
