Nicolas Cage doesn't plan on making many more movies.
The actor is recognised as one of the most talented stars of his generation, combining action movies like The Rock with awards darlings like Leaving Las Vegas as well as eclectic choices like Pig and Dream Scenario.
He won the Academy Award for Best Actor for his performance in Leaving Las Vegas.
Cage has appeared in well over 100 movies, though we better enjoy him while can, as he plans on retiring from making films soon.
“I may have three or four more movies left in me,” he said in a conversation with Vanity Fair.
“I do feel I’ve said what I’ve had to say with cinema. I think I took film performance as far as I could … I do want to get much more severe and stringent in my selection process. I want to say bye on a high note. It occurred very clearly to me that I want to spend time with my family. I’m starting to cement my plan.”
As always, Cage is juggling numerous projects at once currently, but it won't be long before he starts to slow down.
Cage to work in TV?
Aside from a television pilot he filmed when he was just 15, Cage has never appeared in a television series which means he is in the minority in Hollywood now.
He's never been a fan of watching TV, but has been inspired to get involved after his son made him watch the "magnificent" Breaking Bad in which which Bryan Cranston gave a masterful turn as Walter White.
“Maybe it’s time to look at the immersive streaming experience,” he explained “I don’t know. I have to look for the next step and I haven’t found it yet.”
Cage is currently earning rave reviews for his performance in Dream Scenario.
