Mia Goth says the next instalment in the 'X' trilogy will give audiences the best cinematic spectacle so far.
In 2022, Goth starred in X and Pearl, both written and directed by Ti West.
X told the story of a group of wannabe filmmakers attempting to make it in the porn industry by shooting a project on an isolated farm, while Pearl is a prequel, focusing on the title character's attempts to become an actress.
Goth plays the main character in both and received acclaim for her performances. The third instalment in the trilogy, MaXXXine, follows the events of the first movie and the sole survivor of the 'Farmer's Daughter' massacre.
“It’s my favourite script of the three,” the actress told Empire.
“Everything’s bigger. The world is bigger, the stakes are bigger. It’s going to provide the greatest cinematic experience of the three of them.”
It doesn't seem like shooting is too far away, either, going by West's comments in the same interview.
“The script is done,” he confirmed.
“I wrote this one individually. If X is a movie where they’re trying to make independent porn, and if Pearl is about her wanting to be part of ‘the movie business’, as difficult as that may be, then MaXXXine is certainly a different perspective on it. The world of straight-to-video plays a role."
